I just recently joined Fine Art America (FAA) and so far, really like it. It has a pretty easy interface to use, and also offers a nice looking website for me.
They just kicked off a contest that I decided to enter. It's quite a bit different than most, in that the ultimate goal is to get your image past the first round and into the second round where the JUDGES actually vote. What FAA is doing, is having an online photography competition for the next nationally broadcast TV commercial.
Five winners will be chosen to appear in the next TV commercial which is scheduled to begin airing in July 2012. The commercial will air nationwide throughout the United States and is guaranteed to reach a minimum of 10 million viewers during the month of July. The commercial will be 30 seconds in length. Each winner will have one of his or her images displayed on TV for five seconds while a voiceover artist explains the Fine Art America business model and the virtues of buying artwork from living artists and photographers. Each image will fill the entire TV frame and will include the photographer's headshot, name, and hometown overlaid at the bottom left corner.
Here's how it works:
Voting will occur in two stages.
During open voting, visitors to FineArtAmerica.com are able to view all of the contest submissions and cast votes for their favorite photos.
Open voting ends at 11:59 PM (Eastern U.S. Time) on May 31st. At that time, all photographs that have received at least 250 votes from the general public will become eligible for final selection by a jury of FAA staff members and industry professionals.
The panel of jurors will be announced on or before May 31st and will have until June 15th to cast their votes. The decision of the jurors is final.
The five winners will be announced on June 16th
So that means I have to get at least 250 votes to even get to the round where the FAA staff will cast their vote! That's alot of votes, and I'm hoping my blog readers will help out! Voting is really easy and you can connect with your Facebook account.
I entered 3 images and you can vote for all three.
If you click on the image, it will take you right to it on the FAA site, and then click the button "vote for this image". Here's the ones that I entered. Another way you can help is by using the FB like and share buttons:)
I really appreciate your support, thanks so much!
