This is the first time I've done something like this, and it was really fun!! It helped that we had a nice (non-rainy) day. The event was held at a large lot that sells produce and fruit in the summer months, and Christmas trees in December. We had a pagoda all decorated for Santa, and the kids that were helping Mom and Dad pick out their tree seemed to really enjoy (for the most part) being able to deliver their wish list to St. Nick himself. There were those few that balked or ran the other way though. We even had a few pets get in the photos!!
Hopefully this event will become a new city tradition, and I for one enjoyed being involved.
Thank you to all the families that showed up, brought a food donation, and to the chamber of commerce board members for volunteering and helping. Special thanks to Dave, Peter, Santa, and my daughter Alissa for being my valued helper!!
For the families with photos, you can find them in the album here.
