This was the great senior session that I posted here.
We had some bright white overcast skies to work with before the rain clouds rolled in, so the original photo on the left was washed out.
In the middle one, I started with the basic edits, brought out some color, did some burning, added a cloud texture to the washed out white sky, and used a gaussian blur around the edge. I then added one texture to give it some more pop.
One the last photo on the right, I added 2 more textures, both from Jessica Drossin.
One was "enchantment" from the newest texture pack 3, and the other was "handtool" from texture pack 1.
I really find these textures invaluable in my editing. I love the richness that you can get by adding them! And it's so fun to play around and get so many different looks.
If you go to Elena Wilkin's blog here, you'll see some examples from Jessica herself, and some great tips for applying textures to your work.
And one more.... initially basic edits with some skin smoothing and eye brightening, some levels adjusting on the top, then the addition of 3 Jessica Drossin textures...."magic, steel and lace, and batik" on the bottom one.
